A Beginners Guide to Eyebrows
Hey everyone! My name is Greta, and this is my blog! So, brows are a thing, so today I thought I would show you a guide to eyebrows. The best products, hacks, and even how to do your eyebrows with no eyebrow products! Well, I don't wanna make this intro too long because this blog article is already gonna be long, so comment down below how YOU do your brows, if you even do at all! Follow my blog, and lets get going!
Products, and how to use them
Pencil + Spoolie: These are the simplest kind of brow product, and the best for beginners, because they are easy to apply, and easy to make your brows look natural with them! To use this brow product, simply use the pencil to draw in any hairs where they are sparse, and then brush out with the spoolie on the other side! (There are brow pencils without a spoolie, and you can get a seperate spoolie)
Powder + Wax: This is better for people who are more experienced with makeup, but they are super nice. These are used by applying the wax to your eyebrows first, and then going in with the brow powder to fill in any gaps. (There are powders without a wax, but the wax makes it stay longer and its super nice to have)
Gel: There are tinted eyebrow gels, and clear ones, but they can both be used by themselves and after another brow products. They are generally used to keep brows in place all day, and they are super nice and easy to apply.
Pomade: Eyebrow pomade is for people who have been doing makeup for a while, because it takes tons of practice. Its used to fill in the brows and they are super nice. Just use a brow brush to apply to your brows, thats all for that!
Drugstore Options
I have tried the wet n wild brow pencil and spoolie and it works super well so I would love to recommend that to you all, however I have heard great things about the elf brow pencil too.
I have heard great things about the elf wax and powder kit, and I also really wanna try the la colors brow palette, so yeah.
The elf clear brow gel and mascara is great for clear brow gel, and milani has some really great tinted brow gels. Also, if you are not cruelty free, you might really enjoy the Maybelline clear great lash mascara as clear brow gel!
Honestly, I have not found a good brow pomade thats cheap.
More Expensive Options
I have heard some good things about the benefit brow pencils, but they are not cruelty free, so I have not tried them! The ABH brow pencils are really good, I tried one in the store one time.
I have heard some really good things about the sephora collection brow products, and they are not really expensive, so idk if they count as high end stuff, but I have also heard some good things about the dior brow wax and powder, so thats pretty high end.
I have heard some great things about the tartest brow gel, and of course the ABH brow gels are amazing. However, I do think the gimme brow from benefit is a rip off, because that bottle is tiny and its like 30$! Get it if you want, but I would not recommend it!
Of course, I have to recommend the ABH dipbrow pomade for brow pomade. I have also heard great things about the kat von d one!
Hacks
1. Never do your brows in low light, always do them in natural light
2. ALWAYS pick the right shade for you! If you want your brows to look natural, they should pretty much match your hair color, pay attention to this especially if you are blonde, like me, because I have seen so many blondes do there brows TOO DARK! And I get that you want your eyebrows to be visible, and even going a few shades darker is not too bad, but don't have black or grey brows if your a blonde!
3. Pay attention to your undertones. As far as eyebrows go I have figured out that I have cooler undertones, and those work best on most people.
4. Do your brows after you finish the rest of your makeup, because a bold brow doesn't always work with a muted makeup look.
5. Stay away from magnifying mirrors, they can make you overdo your brows, and they end up looking different in real life then in the mirror.
How to do your brows with no eyebrow products!
Method one:
What you need:
1. Unused lip balm
2. Matte brown (or your hair color) eyeshadow
Step a: Apply lip balm to eyebrows
Step b: Use small angled brush to apply matte brown eyeshadow
Step c: Go over with lip balm and brush out with spoolie
Method two:
What you need:
1. Unused lip balm
2. Your hair color pencil liner
Step a: Fill in with pencil
Step b: Brush out with spoolie
Step c: set with lip balm!
Well thats all for now! I love you all no matter your race, gender, sexuality, size, shape, color, sex, or anything else!
