How To Prepare For Back To School
Hello everyone! My name is Greta and today we are going to be talking about how to prepare for back to school because it can be hard to know what to do to mentally and physically prepare! So please comment down below, follow my blog for more classic preppy vintage content, follow me on instagram @afabulousstyle and lets just get started!
1 or 2 weeks before:
@ I know everyone probably already tells you this, but like a week before school starts start getting into the habit of going to bed earlier. Maybe try like 1/2 an hour every day and eventually you'll be ready to go to bed by like 10, which is a good time to go to bed if you have to wake up at 6 am like I do. You should practice waking up early on the last few days of summer, but don't worry about that too much!
@ Get all your supplies and pack your back pack as soon as you can, that way you wont have to worry about it the night before school starts!
@ Watch a ton of back to school videos on youtube
@ Finish all of your summer homework and practice getting back into the habit of reading everyday
@ If you will be going to school on public transportation or walking, do a test run or two of your route just to get it in your head.
@ Make a playlist to get you pumped for back to school!
@ Practice good note taking on things like movies and books
A few days before:
@ Have a sleepover with some of your close friends and watch really cheesy movies about school. It will get you excited to go back and its a nice thing to do especially if your friends are going to different schools then you.
@ Start getting used to waking up earlier, and experiment with what gets you to wake up? Is it natural light? Is it something you love? Is it a certain breakfast? Figure out what makes you want to get up in the morning, it will help during school!
@ Experiment with new style things! Maybe try that lipstick that you've had forever but haven't used yet because its a different shade then what you normally go for. Try a new outfit on! Which brings me to our next thing...
@ Pick out some outfits you want to wear to school and wear them in your every day life. This will help you determine how comfortable and confident you feel in them and will help you decide what you should wear and what you shouldn't to school. Each outfit should be worn for at least 2 hours in order to see comfort level! This will really help guys I promise!
The Day/Night before: (Here's a nice template of how to spend your last day of summer)
1. Wake up early but not too early (I say 8ish is a good time). That way you are still savoring summer but you're also keeping in mind that you have to be used to waking up early.
2. Eat a big breakfast and do some planning for school. Lunch ideas, color coding things, anything.
3. Watch a movie or show for a while (I recommend Pretty Little Liars, Riverdale, Glee, Jane the Virgin and TATBILB)
4, Hang out with friends! Its best to walk around down town or go to a park for a picnic or something outside for during the day. It will help you savor summer but also be willing to say goodbye to it.
5. Eat lunch (Maybe with friends in a park would be nice)
6. Once the friends have said goodbye take some time to get a nice work out in. Go on a run, do some core workouts whatever you wanna do! This will help you sleep better and just make you feel more confident and happy in general. As Elle Woods says "Working out gives you endorphens, endorphens make you happy, and happy people don't kill their husbands".
7. Take a nice shower or bath. Use face, body and lip scrubs, your favorite shampoo, conditioner and body wash, shave your legs if you want to, just do whatever will help you feel more confident when that first day of school comes around.
8. Do a face mask and read or watch a show! Face masks will of course help your skin and they are also just fun to do! I like to facetime my friends while I have a mask on, or watch a show!
9. Check that everything is in place.
Once you have those things checked off you can move on to the next step:
10. Meditate or do whatever you need to relax. Give yourself some time to reflect and enjoy your last summer night.
11. Go to bed early (you should eat dinner at some point, sooner is better)
And there you guys go! That was how to prepare for back to school! I love you all no matter your race, gender, sex, sexuality, size, shape, color, or anything else!
